Rikku Contest Submission

This is my submission to Monty Oum'ss Dead Fantas III contest. I was originally going to take forever to put this together, but I saw the deadline was announced, and with finals coming up I wonn't have time after today to work on it until school gets out. So I did everything tonight.. or this morning I guess lol!

I originally wanted to do a Ronin dress sphere, but when I saw that a ninja still wasn't chosen ( I was sure one would have been by now) I decided to give it a shot.

REally, this could also work as a ronin. Instead of the giant shuriken.. sharp.. star... fighting thingy (what the heck is Rikku's weapon called anyways?) it would be a katana, or a katana and wakizashi, or something like that. I even played with the idea of a fan tucked into her obi. But I thght it might be a pain to animate in 3D.

The colors were difficult for me, because I first tried out yellows,browns, and reds, like Rikku's FFX-2 color scheme. But I found myself thinking about FFX Rikku, and how i prefered that outfit more. ( the shorts were so cute!!) so I decided to add the frills ( they weren't there before). I also decided I would go with her FFX color scheme. I really do think Rikku's FFX clothes were cute.

The Geta are my favorite, though I can't imagine that would be fun to walk in. When I drew them, I could really imagine how kool it'd look to see her running on high heeled geta. You wanna cringe for the pain in hre feet at the same time you're thinking " oh man that's so kool."

It's really late right now. So i might be forgetting to discuss something here, but oh well. @__@ Sleep time.
